Join us in the Saint Mark's 4th Annual
HIKE FOR HAITI Saturday, May 2, 2015 7:00 a.m. - Check-in at Eaton Canyon Nature Center 1750 North Altadena Drive, Pasadena
Hike will begin at 7:30 a.m. SHARP
Why Hike?
To raise money for the lunch program at Saint Marguerite School in Haiti. Through this program, Saint Mark's has been providing a daily hot lunch to 150 students since 2012.
Why so far?
The hike to Henninger Flats is a similar distance to the one which Saint Marguerite students traverse each day to get to school. Braving this distance and terrain is a great reminder of how much these students value their education and how important our efforts to support them really are!
(NOTE: A shorter hiking route will be available for the younger hikers - or anyone who needs it)
What should we bring?
Water, sunscreen, a hat, and more water. There is a fountain available for refills at the park, but you you don't want to run out of water on the trail.
But when do we eat?
Post-hike pancakes will be waiting for your back at the Saint Mark's Community Hall where we will reel in our accomplishment and hear from the Haiti Team Delegates about their recent trip to Haiti and how our efforts here are impacting the community of La Tournelle.
For every $.25 raised, one child's hot lunch will be provided.
This hot lunch is the ONLY meal a Saint Marguerite's student will eat that day.
Show your support by registering as a hiker! (Please register by Thursday, April 30, 2015)
